Hi guys,

I guess all of you must've received your billing statement today.
I just wanted to know if the guys with a GA offer find their bill accurate.

The MBA tuition in my bill is calculated using the out-of-state per-credit rate while it shud've been the in-state rate.
Also, I don't find the tuition remission of $2,500 in my bill.

Do we need to wait for the GA orientation before we pay the bill?

Here is the reply from the horse's mouth . Hope it helps

Hi Shweta,

Your GA & Scholarship amounts will not be applied to your bill until after the GA session on 8/17. You will be filling out all required paperwork on 8/17 for the GA, so your bill cannot be updated until this time.

If you want to estimate your "correct" bill amount for Fall 2011:
In state tuition: $1425 * 14 credits = $19950
Mandatory University fee: $691.49
MBAA Fee: $300
Total: $20,941.49
Subtract: GA Tuition Remission $525/credit *5 = $5625
Subtract: Your scholarship amount

Please let me know if you have any questions.

Best,
Caroline

Hi Shweta,

In an ideal world all paperwork, etc would be done prior to bills being posted, however since it needs to be done in person and students don't arrive until mid-August we don't have much of a choice.

You can pay your tuition balance based on the calculations below, and once the GA adjustments are made pay the remaining balance (if anything). Bills are due August 20th, however no late fees will be charged until September 20th.

Payment methods can be found on the Office of the Bursar's website: http://www.umd.edu/bursar/t_payMethods.html
If you have specific questions you may email bill...@umd.edu or call 301-314-9000

Thanks Shweta!

Only one correction...which I think is obvious
the GA tuition remission wud be 525 * 5 = 2625 and not 5625

So when u said they have hiked the tuition, did you mean the current per-credit rate of 1425? coz I kind-of remember it to be the same. Or are they yet to do tht?
