Hello Everyone,

Now that we have all started registering for classes and some have finalized their housing and others are on the verge of the same, I wanted to know who all are starting from Kolkata, Chennai or Delhi and what time is your flight, which flight and when is it reaching MD/DCA. Please share the flight details if you have already booked or even if you are still planning please share.

Best Regards,
Shweta

Am planning to book my air tickets in the next couple of day.
I will be flying out of Mumbai.
One way tickets from Mumbai in first week of Aug are priced at 42k +.
How are the one way fares from other cities?

Hi,

I am also planning to fly from Mumbai. Haven't booked my tickets yet...

Sandeep - I checked the price of tickets from all the major international airports in India and the ticket price from Mumbai seemed to be the lowest. The cost of the ticket from Mumbai to Washinton DC was approx 40K.. for 10th of August..

Thanks,
Paduka Prasad Padhy

Please try checking the options seniors have suggest in the International Student
handbook. Also check with airlines for all the details directly so that you dnt have last minute hassles. Between Indian Cities there is not much difference, so you can opt for any. And yes the prices will keep on rising as the demand is highest during that period.

Anyone planning to fly from Kolkata or Chennai can confirm we can do group booking in that case.

Sagar,

Did you check with Emirates about the luggage limit. It's 23*2 plus one cabin baggage.. But from NY they have a separate flight to DCA so whats the limit in there?
Please let me know if you already checked with them about it.

Best,
Shweta

If you are not booking the connecting flight from NY to DCA then you should be fine with the 23*2.
If you separately book a domestic flight on your own then the domestic baggage (much less than international) will apply to you.
You can still re-confirm this though.
