Bandicam is one of the best pedagogical tools in addition to being an advanced screen recorder. I am finding it to be very helpful in this current lock-down situation due to COVID-19. It is one of the best apps available in the market at present. It has a lot of flexibility & customization tools.
This screen recorder uses Javascript to capture the audio and the screen in your browser.

I installed gpu-screen-recorder yesterday, along with gtk version from the aur repository, but whatever audio source I add it doesn't capture any sound. I use Nvidia GTX 1650 Super with proprietary drivers. Is this fault of the gpu?
Each audio is in its own audio track in the video, which is why you dont hear the other audio inputs unless you switch to them. gpu screen recorder gtk has been updated now to have an option (that is enabled by default) to only use 1 audio track.
There is now also an option to select the "default output", so you dont have to know the name of the audio device that you are using.

In this case, run a Xephyr in your appvm, run all application you want inside this Xephyr instance and record the screen inside the Xephyr. This approach has been working for me for years. It may take some time to configure a little and automate the Xephyr process by writing a shell script or python script or a dockerfile, but it is worthwhile.
My personal opinion here: dom0 screenshoter is necessary as you do not know that you need screenshoting until you actually need it (for example, something crashes with a information that will disappear in 10 seconds); screen recording is not in that case - you usually have a plan for it.
A non-intrusive way to get screen recording is a HDMI to USB converter. There are devices for about $ 10.00 which allow to capture the screen from an HTML output on the Qubes system. The USB side of the device may be connected to another computer which will see it as a webcam, and there you may record the video. This all works without installing any software in Dom0.
I like the possibility of saving the screen and also having video of myself explaining. I love to share my browser and show what I'm doing to my clients. It's great versus other similar apps, the chrome extension works wonderfully!

Although not packaged for openSUSE, Vokoscreen was highly recommended by a member of my local Linux UG. Its source is posted on github and the install requirements look to be easily provided by the OSS
You can also try reducing the frame rate for you capture.
Rule of thumbs are
29fps will almost always guarantee seamless, jitter-free video but can require substantial resources if there is a lot of detail
24fps is on the edge of when you might not have jitter-free video
Decrease your screen resolution so less data needs to be captured and encoded.
If you have multiple machines, you can encode on a machine different than the capturing.
Decrease your audio capture quality as much as possible. In fact at my local Linux UG presentation, audio was captured on a separate, dedicated device and was used as a replacement track for the one captured by the computer.
I use Windows Game Bar to record my screen (and not necessarily for Games). The size of the file that comes out, however, is sometimes outrageous. A 5 min recording takes up about 200 MB! Recently, I recorded a one and a half online lecture and the file size was about 8 GB; it reduced to 3.2 GB after compressing!
See, there are settings in the gamebar which change the size of the file. Set it to Standard instead of high and done. The file will be big ofc, and that is because its recording your screen resolution.Change the screen resolution and your file size will change automatically too.But incase you want even more compresseed file, just pass the file through a video editor and adjust the bitrate to the lowest it can go to. Done.
