Both of the suggested Hubs are subthemes of Stax, but with different connotations. Soft Lock Stax decks limit opponent resources - forcing them to play at a pace slower than the player applying the lock. However, this lock can be feasibly broken by decks that have interaction - e.g. Assassin's Trophy or Krosan Grip. An example of a Soft Lock combo would be Sword of Truth and Justice + Glistener Elf + Tangle Wire.

A Hard Lock Stax deck shuts opponents out of a game by removing any and all access to resources while the player applying the lock has a means of mitigating the lock. Typically, the player applying the lock has no reliable means of outright ending the game - forcing opponents to sit around and wait. An example of an infamous Hard Lock would be Leovold, Emissary of Trest + Teferi's Puzzle Box.

Additionally, Both Hard Lock and Soft Lock are commonly used terms within the lexicon of magic players, see: source under Lockdown. And yes, I have a deck (The Song of Phyresis - it's awesome, you should check it out) that can regularly create Soft Locks on the board, so the Soft Lock Hub would be especially relevant to me. Does anyone else think these hubs would be relevant or useful in describing their own decks? Please post!

In general snippets will not suffice, you should post your full diagnostic, include any hardware or software changes (including physically moving the box) within four weeks of the current issue starting. Also include any steps you've taken to troubleshoot your rig including running memtest or turning off and restarting each instance of the following one at a time:

Here are more details as requested. My Unraid build is new (still on trial version for 8 more days). This hard lock issue has been happening pretty much since day one intermittently. There have even been a few instances where my netgear gigabit switch would die along with it, which was strange. Forgot to add in my hardware build, I have an Nvidia p2000 gpu. No consistency in the crashes. Sometimes it will go 5 days without an issues, and sometimes only 12-15hrs.

I did have the USB flash on a 3.1 slot. I've moved it to a USB 2.0 slot now.

I also went into the BIOS and changed the "Power Supply Idle Control" setting from "Auto" to "Typical Current Idle" as I saw other forum posts mentioning that could be a problem.

Back up and running for now. Hopefully that fixes it.

There are lots of these too and according to this thread it can cause cause a locked console. This thread on the unRaid forum says it may be fixed by moving the offending controller. Between this PCIe error and the PCI Bus with Nvidia I think this is where I'd start (your log is completely spammed with these). One final thread about the PCIe error mentions Nvidia too.

I also added to the kernel "rcu_nocbs=0-31" as I saw in a video from SpaceInvaderOne that helped stability with his Ryzen build.

Lastly, I noticed in most of the instances of my hard locks, the server appeared to be doing a NIC check of some sort. It happened again last night and in the process of that, the Netgear switch my server is plugged into froze too. I read that some switches do not support bonding and could cause problems. So, I've disabled bonding as well.

So far, 1hr in, the resourse sanity check error has not popped back up on the syslog. No lock ups yet, but usually they tend to happen overnight anyway. Will post the results tomorrow.

I'm still experiencing random issues with the network connectivity as mentioned in my last post. Based on what I'm seeing in the Syslog, I'm thinking it might have something to do with the Binhex-DelugeVPN docker as I'm finding references of my VPN IP in some of the log lines before it happens.

So, I've shut down that docker and will see if that stabilizes things.

The server hard locked sometime last night. The syslog doesn't show any new entries from the last time I checked it. So, I'm a bit lost now. Guess it is something in the BIOS maybe. Any thoughts on what I could check/change there to stabilize my build? I'll try to photos of my current BIOS settings and post them after my shift.

Experienced another hard lock last night while I was asleep. This morning, I did find the Global C State option in the BIOS and have changed it from "Auto" to "Disabled". Hoping this fixes the instability. Keep you posted.

The system was pretty solid for months, but I made a few changes over the past couple of weeks and it's been very unstable since. Like you, it will run fine for a few hours, but then will lock up overnight, and will take a few attempts to boot reliably.

One thing to note, I did find out that "Global C-state" in the BIOS was still set to "Auto" when I thought I had disabled it. It is now turned off for sure. So, I'll find out tomorrow if another hard lock occurs overnight. Keeping my fingers crossed.

they probably placed the lock to prevent you from getting good/great armour right from the start and spoil the game for yourself. A part of the fun is starting low and working your way up, getting better gear and becoming more skilled in the process.

BRO THANK U SO MUCH i had no idea i could buy that stuff still. the game was a gift . i remember the 1st time i seen that armor on a stream and was so jelly over it . now i just bought it for the best $5 bucks i ever spent . thanks again.

We don't have TWS yet, you're referring to SAM mode. There's an ongoing discussion about this, but the tl;dr version is that SAM still centers the antenna on the bugged target once every few swipes and that generates a lock warning.

Hey Sk000tch, I agree with your post, a SAM designation shouldn't generate an STT warning, of course. I was just describing the current behavior in DCS, because OP was asking about getting RWR warnings with SAM, I should've clarified that I wasn't talking about how it works IRL. Same for the range info displayed.

The thing is that currently, both SAM on the F-16 and LTWS on the Hornet work very differently that IRL. I don't know if you've seen this, but you can straight up guide an AIM-7 all the way to impact with LTWS in the Hornet... Also get an NCTR print, just with LTWS (which I think requires STT). Both just with LTWS, on a full 140 degree azimuth scan. So there's definitely something up with the way the radar behavior changes in DCS upon either SAM or LTWS designation.

Just replaced the Motherboard, CPU and RAM in my rig. Performed a clean Windows 10 Pro x64 install. Installed the latest Chipset and GPU drivers from amd.com. I am experiencing hard locks of my system any time a setting in WattMan is changed (99% of the time with on desktop with Firefox open, possibly playing YT video, I have had one hard lock when in the menus of BF:V after alt+tabbing to desktop). This includes my reset and power button, causing me to shut the PC down using the PSU switch. The custom settings I had set are:

[These settings were set on my previous build (FX-8350, 16GB DDR3, MSI 990FXA Gaming) based on advice found on this forum and corroborated else where on the net without issue on 12.9.3 (the driver was kept here because of the aforementioned screen freeze issue when installing anything higher (18.11.1, 18.12.2, etc.) and I had not found the HDCP fix yet (Also AMD, not sure what combo of the GPU/Active Adapters/Monitors cause this issue but it is independent of CPU, MoBo, RAM and as mentioned, started when installing anything higher than 18.9.3 on the RX580). These settings also stopped weird white/green artifact/static bars from appearing in full screen games on my right hand monitor.]

On next boot, I get a message from Radeon Settings stating: "Default Radeon WattMan settings have been restored due to unexpected system failure". I have performed clean installs of all drivers 3-4 times now. My detailed setup info is as follows:

AMD Radeon: 18.12.2 (Custom settings: HDCP turned off for each display due to that awesome 1sec screen freeze every 15-30sec; custom performance monitoring folder location). Install performed on first time booting windows, after running DDU in safe mode (clean & restart) thereafter

I have attached the problem report wizard output (with redacted personal info) and associated style sheet, screen shots of of the Overview, Software and Hardware tabs in the System section of Radeon Settings as well as a few performance logging files in CSV format. Please let me know if you would like any further info!

I just got a new laptop and installed Ubuntu on it. Wi-fi worked fine on Windows 8, but now it says that it's disabled by a hardware switch. rfkill unblock all did nothing. Many people have suggested installing something, but there's no ethernet port. Tried using a USB dongle, that's blocked too.

I had the same problem. After trying many different suggestions, I found out that my wifi have been turned off by the "Radio on/off" key on my keyboard (usually having an antenna or radio tower symbol on it; on Dell laptop, Fn+F2 key-combination).I see that "MUY Belgium" has suggested that, too; I would up-vote his answer, if I had enough reputation score.
