I had a similar problem - still not sure what caused it or how it fixed itself.
I am using Firefox 84, Kaspersky 21.3.
Kaspersky updated itself and I could not open anything in Firefox (everything worked fine in other browsers). I went through this thread, checked every option mentioned, turned on the option to stop checking encrypted connections.
Then I saw that my Firefox version was out of date - updated it to the recommended 87 and now (knock on wood!) everything is back to normal.
I get these at seemingly random times and not only when surfing the web. As you can see in the event details included below, the application name is sometimes SearchApp.exe (which shows as Windows OS when the Kaspersky pop-up appears) while others are chrome.exe.
I'd like to understand why I'm getting these. Of course, I want to learn in general but no one seems to really know the exact purpose of these domains exactly. It's been stated that it pertains to Microsoft DNS tracking while it's also been said that it may be related to the Outlook desktop client.
Either way, does anyone know why one would suddenly start getting so many of these and what they mean? I spent some time learning about and have a general understanding of the event type itself...but I don't fully understand it. I also don't know why they would be so frequent all of a sudden.
Why do they all pertain to footprintdns all of a sudden, though? What exactly is that domain doing anyway? If it's related to Microsoft DNS tracking, it doesn't make sense to me that such a behemoth would allow invalid certificates for all these related domains. It seems suspect to me and I was initially worried that I had been hacked or something due to the frequency.
Certificate name mismatch
We were able to retrieve a certificate for this site, but the domain names listed in it do not match the domain name you requested us to inspect. It's possible that:
Thanks again for your continued knowledge and assistance. The other two domains in the events above, though, do show active servers. This also doesn't tell me why I'm getting these related events repeatedly and what it means.
SearchApp.exe is on all Windows Operating Systems, as I understand it, and I don't see such events with these related object names on my other two computers...and I don't like not knowing why it's happening all of a sudden or what it's doing when I didn't change any settings.
Hello @always_working,
the domain seems to belong to Microsoft. It keeps popping up in various forums for years, no one really knows what it is used for. Requests to the domain seem to be more often related to Office 365.
Many users have blocked the domain, either by hosts or by firewall. It does not seem to have any negative consequences.
I can only assume that with the last Windows update a change was made without adjusting the certificate.
Clarification could possibly bring a request to Microsoft support, but they rarely answer such questions.

It is not an app, it is a printer scanning to drop box and the connection is setup via an online website of theirs called Epson Connect. The website allowed me to make and authenticate a new connection to drop box. This tells me that Epson seems to have no problem "seeing" drop box but as per the error message it seems drop box is not letting the scanned document in.
Hey @AST2 & @RW71 - sorry to jump in here, but could you let us know if you've tried disconnecting the Epson's integration from your connected apps tab and re-connecting it anew if it's listed there?

Just started having the same issue 2 days ago. Tried resetting epson connect services: unregistered printer, made new dropbox account which it connected to and epson created a new directory within dropbox- so it is communicating to dropbox sort of. Issue seems to be the scanned file is not allowed to be saved to dropbox. I am thinking dropbox changed some security feature.
Same issue here. I have removed the Epson app from the Dropbox page and then restored it from Epson connect, I've edited the Epson Connect destination folder on Dropbox, in EpsonConnect I changed the name "Dropbox" as destination to "Dropbox 2024" and confirmed that this name showed up on my scanner (WF-3620): all of this appeared to work fine, but I still get the error message "Your scan data was received, but not transferred to Dropbox." I've restarted both printer/scanner and computer: no difference.
WRT this other post, I've decided to go with In-DB connections using (.indbc) connections instead of standard Input and Output nodes (see first image). I'll go ahead and indicate this on that post and close it if I can.
What's happening now is that I'm getting an "Error finding connection" error (see second image below) after publishing this workflow to Server. I don't think it's an issue with the workflow finding the (.indbc) file, but don't understand enough about (.indbc) connections to confirm.
The dynamic replace of the initial DB connection setting is working fine, since the file noted in the error message (DEV_RULES.indbc) is the right one to use. I've also verified that this file is in the correct path on the server, and is the same as in my local environment, with the correct connection info.
Update - I created a very simple workflow (below) whereby the In-DB Connection node just reads from my DB using the configured (.indbc) file. I published to Server and it worked just fine and output the records I was expecting to a (.xlsx) file, no problem.
So the ONLY difference between this and the workflow in my original post above is that I'm passing the reference to a different (.indbc) file through the Control Parameter and Action nodes when running on Server. This seems to be what is precipitating the error.
Hi @PaulFields2 were you able to resolve this issue? I have been passing the filepath for the .indbc file through macros and it always used to work. More recently it seems to be causing issues when publishing the apps to the Gallery. The same app works just fine in Designer.
Hi,
I have a flow that uploads the file into the Sharepoint site and then runs a script to make changes in the file.
But I'm receiving the following error,
"We were unable to run the script. Please try again. The script couldn't create a connection with Excel"
I have realized that when a file created in the SharePoint library, the file is shown only in view mode. I assume this could be the reason.
I have tested similar flows that upload the file as in edit mode, scripts run.
Any idea how to fix this issue?
Regards,
Serbay
