Proposal to get things going.

Hi all.

Now that we have had an introduction to the Marinduque project and
have the google group going, I
think that there is general agreement that we should really make some
forward progress on the project.

Since we all need to have an understanding of the island sustainablity
framework I suggest that we get moving on that in the following two
stages:

First I propose that we upload the documents related to sustainable
islands that we have to the google groups page so we can all acess
them. Lets try to get a good amount of relevant documents available to
all group members by Friday June 26th if possible.


Second, I think that we should write a brief understanding of
sustainable development that we can use for our reports by next Friday
the 3rd of July. By doing this when we meet next friday we can have a
discussion on what we think should be included in the sustainable
island frameworks.

Anyways, I think this will be a good way to get started especially as it's near the beginning of the quarter and we're all going to get busier later. Doing this will also make the meetings we have more productive.

 

Obviously this isn't anything like an assignment, but I really think we should get the ball rolling and the more structured we can get the more likely that the results will be good in the long run.

 

NOTE: In the previous email i said that we should write a brief outline of what we think about sustainable development and what I meant to say was sustainable islands. I guess I just have the term sustainable development drilled too deeply in my head.
