Title: Credal sum-product networks Dr. Cassio P. de Campos, Assistant Professor, Universiteit Utrecht, NL INRIA Montbonnot - F107 - 15:00 - Wednesday December 12, 2018 Abstract: Sum-product networks are a relatively new and increasingly popular class of (precise) probabilistic graphical models that allow for marginal inference with polynomial effort. As with other probabilistic models, sum-product networks are often learned from data and used to perform classification. Hence, their results are prone to be unreliable and overconfident. In this talk we describe the sum-product networks and elaborate further on a robust extension which is typically useful for sensitivity analysis and risk-aware inferences. We apply our algorithms on realistic classification tasks and discuss on the results and possible future research.
