HI Everyone,
Is there a way to find the ip address of a SAN device(Switch or disk Array)? Which class populates the ip address ?
CIM_RemoteServiceAccessPoint is this class the correct one to find out the ip address ?
Are there any other ways to find the ip address oh the SAN device.

Thank you,
Tejas

Hi Tejas,

hostname or IP address should be in one of the properties of
CIM_ComputerSystem for the Switch or Disk Array
CIM_RemoteServiceAccessPoint is for the connectivity information to
the management interface of the device (element manager)

Hi Mike,
THanks for your prompt reply.
Just wanted to clarify one thing is the Host Name we get in the computer system is a fully qualified DNS name ,so that even if we dont get the ip address in the computer sysytem class we can always resolve the host name and get its ip address

THank you for your help,
Tejas

It depends on the vendor implementation.
Not sure if a fully qualified name is specified in SMI-S
