My printer is a HP Deskjet 2540 'all in one' printer. I went through the whole process described in the website installing the latest driver set HPLIP 3.16.7. It did install without a problem but when running the hp-setup program I can see my printer has been detected but the PPD file can't be found (I must say this exact printer model is supported by hplip):
As already answered answered install hplip which pulls in hplip-data, thenon Debian 9.4 for example you seem to need a reboot of the computer and then go back into the printer settings and you can select the required driver HP Deskjet 2540 series. It also has the all in one scanner working out of the box.
I have a Deskjet 2540 All in One printer. After I updated my router, I can no longer print. I get Error - print message. On my Setting Devices page, it shows my printer with "Driver not Available". I have worked with microsoft and refreshed my OS, I am running Windows 10 64bit. Version 2004, build 19041.330. I have done all the usual remedies, removed and reinstalled my printer, nothing seems to work. When I tried to download a driver from HP, I get nothing. When I put the serial number of my printer in the dialogue box, I get no such serial number exists. I have downloaded drivers before, I dont have a counterfeit machine
