Scrolly scrolly used on a Government press release

Hi all

A fair few of us have taken an interest in using scrolly web platforms with big pics for our features.

And here’s a new one on me: BIS have made a press release into one about their shiny new £200M research vessel:

That’s mental! Have to say I enjoyed the imaginatively titled ‘NAME OF VESSEL’ on the side of the ship in the artist’s impression.

Hah! I missed that – too busy wondering why the start and end of the Minister’s quote were missing (cut off unless I enlarged my browser window – so much for responsive…). It’s shiny, but is it more effective for the extra effort?

Only just picking up on this – Arran, I think you’ll find it’s NERC’s news and the cracking pic at the start of BIS’s press release is from the British Antarctic Survey.

Nick – there was a fair bit of Twitter traffic and hilarity about the ‘Name of vessel’ when the news was announced back in April 2014…

Hello everyone

I'm new here *waves* and happened across this recent-ish scrolly thread. I'm at Breast Cancer Now (formed in a merger this year) and we've done some scrolly scrolly dabbling which I thought I'd share here for interest:
