1. Discuss potential subjects for research/reports with author.
Discussion is based on researcher’s expertise and interest as well as
publishers publishing schedule.

2. If new author to publisher, prospective writer provides credentials
to publisher including CV, biography, and picture (in GIF or JPG
format – used for marketing purposes). If selected as a writer, we
proceed with next steps.

3. Develop a report outline (provides focus and facilitates pre-
marketing process). This can occur before or after the writer signs
the publishing agreement.

4. First draft (enables feedback from publisher and further
facilitates the pre-marketing process)

5. Publisher begins marketing process including web site development,
email contacts, working with publication resellers, etc. This begins
the pre-sales process in which orders may be taken in anticipation of
a finished product to be delivered once officially published. Special
pre-publication offers are typically provided to provide incentive for
pre-orders from clients.

6. Second and subsequent drafts (more feedback and editorial input
from publisher)

7. Final draft of report is conveyed to the publisher

8. Final edits from publisher

9. Report is officially published

10. Report is dispatched to clients who have pre-ordered reports.
The sales process begins in earnest.
