Who is planning an education minisymposium? Or maybe we can start the process organically here!
:)

Dear SMB Member Carrie Eaton,

We are happy to announce the 2024 joint annual meeting of KSMB and SMB at Konkuk University, Seoul, Republic of Korea, June 30 - July 5, 2024. The homepage of the conference is available at https://smb2024.org/index.asp

For this exciting conference, the submission system for minisymposium (MS) proposals and contributed talks/posters is expected to be open during the following times:

For an MS proposal, one can create an account to log into the system and submit the following:
  • Title of session
  • Session organizer info (name, affiliation, email etc)
  • Abstract of session
  • Speaker info (names, affiliations, emails etc),
  • Title of talk for each speaker, and
  • Relevant subgroups for the session topic

A typical MS session will have five speakers last 100 mins (20 mins per speaker including questions/answers), but the format can be flexible in exceptional cases. For example, an MS session could have 4 speakers instead of 5, assigning 25 mins per speaker. An MS organizer (or organizers) can propose multiple sessions as well. For example, one can propose 10 speakers with the same research topic. In this case, if accepted, this MS session will be split into two sessions with 'I', and 'II' at the end of the session title. If one has an accepted MS proposal with 9 speakers, combinations of 5+4 or 4+5 will be applied for the two sessions.

Of course, the format of contributed talks/posters is simple, requiring info for one presentation (Name, affiliation, email address, title of presentation, type of presentation (contributed talk or poster), abstract).

We welcome everyone and look forward to meeting you in Seoul, a modern, beautiful city in South Korea!
