The Velocette Ride is in Fort Bragg this week, so Scottie Sharpe and his lovely wife Ally came over to Laytonville for a visit. His Vincent enjoyed the visit so much that it didn't want to leave. (I didn't know Velocette made a "Vincent" model).
So Scottie calls the chase truck and lo and behold, they were driving past the high school in town, about two miles from my place.

The chase truck came back to get Scottie's bike, and they brought along a spare Vincent, just in case!
There will be a Bike Show in Fort Bragg this Saturday 6-20-26, noon'ish if anyone is in the area.

Bad timing. The only AMCA show west of the Rockies is happening 6/19 and 6/20 at the Dixon fairgrounds, south of Sacramento

I believe there was a qualified Vincent mechanic in that Velocette group. Wonder if Scotty and Fred have spoken...

I am sure riders of (much less expensive) Triumphs, BSA's, Nortons, and, oh yes, Velocettes, will be chuckling and making jokes about two Vincents in the chase truck!

I certainly wouldn't miss the opportunity were I there... I know Fred took his Velo so it wasn't his Vincent in the truck with Scotty's...

Since Scottie and Ally were nice enough to visit me in Laterville this week, I rode over to Fort Bragg today to check out some Velocettes. Scottie says his Vincent fired right up this morning, I guess the Fort Bragg fog was probably the kind of weather that the Vincent was used to.
Seems to me Captain Chris used to have a Venom at the back of the garage.

You can get a good deal on that fixer-upper; the one above the harbor will cost you a bit more.
