Boot Dinner

Apparently some SMBC organizational history has been lost or forgotten over the years. There is a traditional boot dinner date: the Saturday of the weekend before Labor Day. Always.

Why? Because that was the date of the “Carson City Ride" dinner. The boot was first awarded at that dinner in Aug of ’92 (in Minden, but we still called it the Carson City Ride). We’ve been awarding the boot on that Saturday ever since.

Why was the Carson City ride on that weekend? Your guess is as good as mine.
