Restaurant Change?

Hello all...

Those who joined us for breakfast yesterday know the story. The scheduled restaurant -- Heavenly Roadside -- was so busy there was a line just to get your name on the waiting list. At Mike’s suggestion we rode back into Scott’s Valley and had breakfast at Auntie Mame’s Cafe across from the Shell Station on Scotts Valley Drive.

There were comments about replacing Heavenly with Auntie Mame’s for the 2026 schedule. Your thoughts?

My favorite thing about Heavenly Roadside was sitting outside overlooking the canyon, but they rarely seem to have enough staff to open the outdoor seating, which I've always thought was disappointing there.

Auntie Mame's has been there the whole time that I've been riding with SMBC to other restaurants in/around Scotts Valley. On our visit this weekend, I thought the food was pretty good, the service was great, and the prices were quite reasonable for 2025.

Granted both Marco and I had the same dish, so maybe we're both in a Chili-Verde-induced vision of greatness?

The pancakes at Auntie Mame’s were good (and large).  I think the crowd at Heavenly Roadside may have been a product of the time change. Let’s leave the Feb 22 date as is; change the May 31 date to Auntie Mame’s. Then we can decide on future dates for Scotts Valley.

I have been to Aunt Mame's - it is great!  I propose a permanent change to them.  I

was never keen on heavenly Roadside Cafe.  they seemed to barely tolerate our group.

     I was attending the memorial in Davenport, for the late Kari Prager.  (Former owner of Cal Moto and Livermore dealers)

There were 45 riders.  I go every year.  One thing I'm certain of - I'll never run into another SMBC member there!

     Oh well - maybe next year.
