I spotted that same one hiding by the Covelo Road exit. That dark grey blends in very well in the shadows.  I remember the days when their motto was "To protect and to serve", now it seems to be "To intimidate and fund-raise"...

I live VERY close to Oakland, which has an almost non-functioning police department. The CHP has stepped in to provide a modicum of public safety. I am NOT going to diss the CHP!

Hello fellow riders,

     My dad was a S.F. Policeman 91937-41 & 1945-49)  WW II interrupted

his police service.  He said that the public fought the use of plain clothes cars, or

less-identifiable law enforcement vehicles.  Their point was - We don't want

you driving by us when we clearly need help. (Just because you can drive

by without us knowing!)
