ALL WELCOME! EASTER SUNRISE SERVICE - SUNDAY, APRIL 4, 2021 - 6:00 AM.

Again...6:00 a.m. on EASTER SUNDAY, APRIL 4, 2021...The traditional Easter Sunrise Service will be held again this year. It is a unique, joyful, magnificent opportunity for worship, a mountaintop experience! People representing all denominations, and even faiths, have attended for decades. In fact, we think this is the 50th Anniversary of this unique, joyful event. Everybody in town is welcome to come! Nothing like it! Inspiration plus! Two groups will meet at exactly 6:00 a.m. One group will hike up from the top of Fassler Boulevard starting at 6:00 a.m. sharp. Another group will meet at Eureka Square at exactly 6:00 a.m. in their automobiles and be guided up by the Pacifica Police Department escort up to the ravine at the Discovery Site. The hiking group will unite with the caravan at the ravine and be led by Master Bagpiper David Vasheresse to the summit on Sweeney Ridge. The group will proceed in darkness and experience the morning sun as they proceed all together to the summit. IMPORTANT! You must wear warm, warm clothing, a hat, a scarf, and definitely gloves. A cup of coffee helps. Lessons will be read by Debbie Sheedy and Andrea Almonte. The coordinator for the event is the Rev. Tom Nibbe of Holy Cross Lutheran Church. Sometimes the weather is glorious and sometimes it is foggy and overcast. The Easter Sunrise Service was started by Mayor Grace McCarthy sometime in the Seventies. Pastor Nibbe has led this worship service since 1983. Questions? Call P.T. @ 650-703-8497 This is a great experience! Special thanks to the Pacifica City Council---to Park Ranger Katie Beltrano of the National Parks Service---to Captain Chris Clements of the Pacifica Police Department---David Vasheresse, the Scottish Bagpipe Master---and our volunteer readers and hopefully musicians. If you play, we could use your contribution.
