Being one of those that purchased several of these tubes lately on ebay  (NL-5971/B-5971), I thought I would try to get something done with them instead of sitting in boxes like my B-7971's.

First, trying to find real SK-136 sockets which have all the pins has been a real problem.  (I can only find the sockets missing the two inner pins.)

So, I would like to buy/setup smart sockets.

Does anyone have the kits available?   Boards, chips, resistors, etc?
If so, that would be great, but if not, I would just put together a bunch of kits based on the OSHPark.com board share from Chris.  In this case, I would probably get several extra made as a group buy.

Thoughts?

This group is about SmartSocket the software, not the hardware. The two don't have anything to do with one another.

Hope you find your answer, eventually!

LOL.

Since the admin of the group that designed the software and the circuit said I should ask in here, I did exactly that.

Have a good day.

OK what is this group? The Smartsocket group has always been at https://groups.yahoo.com/neo/groups/smartsockets/info why this second group? I'll do PCBs if there is a demand.

John,

Thanks for the reply.

It was my understanding that the yahoo group closed and was moved to google groups long ago.

If appears when I jumped, I was removed from the yahoo group, so I couldn’t post / see files.

The confusion was that there is two groups for smartsocket(s)?

I am interested in getting the boards / kits.

The above was neoniexie-l, of which I am a long time moderator.

Chris Barron still monitors the smartsocket group on Yahoo, but does not offer support or PCBs. Last year I made and distributed PCBs for Telefunken ZM1350 varisymbols through the Yahoo smartsocket group. I’d be happy to make a batch for B-5971s if there is a demand which allows me to break even on costs.

I purchased everything needed for the kits along with extras.

It turns out the publicly searchable smartsocket hardware is sound and working.
The code; however, needs work.

I have a few extra kits available on top of what was ordered for the group buy.

I will post in the future to the neonixie-l group in google or the Smartsockets group in yahoo.
