MARTEDì 21 Marzo, ore 12.00 - Aula Seminari (via Salaria 113, 3° piano)

Sarà presente in dipartimento miss Melanie Rieback, della Vrije
Universiteit Amsterdam.
Melanie presenterà un lavoro realizzato assieme ai professori Bruno
Crispo e Andrew S. Tanenbaum ed accettato a PerCom 2006, dal titolo
"RFID Malware: How to Infect the Internet of Things".
L'intervento sarà in lingua Inglese e durerà meno di un'ora.

Di seguito un breve abstract del seminario:

Attacks against Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) systems are
currently conceived as properly formatted but fake RFID data; however
no one currently expects an RFID tag to send a SQL injection attack or
a buffer overflow. This talk will discuss how how data from RFID tags
can be used to exploit back-end software systems. The discussion will
first define RFID malware (RFID exploits, RFID worms, and RFID
viruses), and will then describe the application scenarios, infection
mechanisms, and payloads. We will then explain what RFID middleware
writers can do to stop RFID malware. The talk will conclude with a
live demonstration of a self-replicating RFID virus.

La s.v. è invitata a partecipare e a promuovere l'evento.
Grazie per l'attenzione
