Dear ones,

The meeting with the parents was smooth. Few concerns were there.

In the Primary grade the levels are not being assessed pertaining to the accuracy of Hindi Matras, whereas in Middle level the marks are allocated for the same. The parent deciphered the need  of assessing  the accuracy of matra at the junior level Classes 4 and 5 too.
The load of heavy bags was also a point raised by the parents of classes 3 and 4 though the children have been instructed not to carry additional books other than instructed.
In class 2 the parents are happy with the list of spellings handed over to them with a view to strengthening and assessing so.
In computer the class2 parents suggested if a slip containing the content matter could be given in the diary, would help them to understand what is to be taken up in the next class.
A point was raised by a class 4 parents that few children need constant focus in mathematics. So more drilling exercises are needed for them in the form worksheets
.
Two parents expressed their concern about pressure of home work in class 6.One of the parents stated that on the preceding day of Fas if heavy home work is being assigned, the child feels the heat of the work along with fa preparation as in fas they need to prepare number of chapters..
There was a concern if one day gap could be kept between two fas.
A parent of class 6 conveyed that the topics are being discussed in the classroom and the children writes the questions on their own.At times  question are not very direct where the children face problem to write their own answers. The parents are not able to provide any help.So he stressed that the questions must be discussed in the class afterwards. There was one more concern about the exercises provided at the back are not always being  done.

I had discourse with number of parents and dealt the  issues at individual level.
thanks
sushmita

Dear Sushmita
the point regarding assessing hindi matras in writing is well taken. However, we in primary are working in the direction of taking up matra spelling patterns (as a structred thing within spelling teaching) systematically and then assessing them correspondingly.
Attention in this direction is well identified.

Regarding parents suggestion for giving the content in the diary for this we had already provided I term content to the parents in advance...do we really need to give what is to be taken up in the next class in each class???

Okay Megha, I'll also confirm from the Hindi teachers.
Nisha, I believe that you have already spoken to shelly about this.
You may send a handout to the parents explaining all the details how it would be taken up with the descriptions. You are the best person to adjudge.
Thanks
sushmita
