Colleagues,

I am looking forward to the Sloan-C conference next week.  It is always one of my favorite conferences and I have been attending it for eight years now.  In addition to learning more about good practices in distance learning, one of the highlights of the event is crossing paths with several colleagues.  It would be good to cross your path so I am providing dates/times of the presentations I will be participating in.  I hope to see you there.

PRESENTATIONS

Wednesday, Oct 10, 12:45 pm   “Keeping Online Students Enrolled: A review of research on online student retention.”   In this presentation I will be sharing the results of several research projects that computed the relationship between the non-cognitive variables measured by SmarterMeasure and key student performance indicators such as retention, academic success, engagement and satisfaction.

Thursday, Oct 11, 11:25 am  “Orientation for Online Learners at Madison College.”   I will be co-presenting with colleagues from Madison College as they share good practices in their orientation experience for online learners

Thursday, Oct 11, 4:30 pm  “Online Student Readiness as a Predictor of Online Student Satisfaction”  In this poster session I will be co-presenting with a colleague from Noel Levitz about the findings of a research project that we conducted to compute the relationship between variables of incoming student readiness and student satisfaction
