Pre-Release announcement

Dear customer of the SmartComponent Library,

 

we are busy finalizing a new Release of the SmartComponent Library. We have already uploaded the new source code of the SmartComponent Library and Demo application to the Wiki at http://wiki.dynamics4.net/D4wiki/SmartComponentLibrary/Download. This link is accessible by customers of the SmartComponent Library only.

 

An official announcement of the release will be sent out tomorrow or Tuesday once we’ve added documentation to some of the new features to the wiki.

 

Among other enhancements, the new release will introduce these changes that were already announced using this list:

 

·         Announcing strong named assemblies for the upcoming release of the SmartComponent Library

·         Simplifying backend compilation on Unix/Linux

 

 

Further announcements:

 

We have started testing the SmartComponent Library on the tech preview release of OpenEdge 11. We’ve found minor issues so far that we are going to handle in a separate branch. Customers that are also on Progress’ tech preview or beta releases and wish to receive updates for OpenEdge 11 already, please let us know!
