Dear SmartComponent Library user,
last Monday Progress has released Service Pack 2 for OpenEdge 10.2B. Our testing during the last couple of days have not shown any compatibility issue between the new service pack and the current SmartComponent Library code base. Based on this experience we do currently recommend either OpenEdge 10.2B Service Pack1 or Service Pack 2 as a foundation for the SmartComponent Library.
We are currently working on a new release of the SmartComponent Library. Key features include:
- Optional usage of the new (currently undocumented) –IOEverywhere 1 startup parameter to allow the custom error message dialog in situations where currently only the MESSAGE statement is allowed for showing error message information (making the Consultingwerk.Util.ErrorHelper: ErrorMessageDialogAllowed property obsolete (when running SP2 with this parameter set).
- Column Filters on SmartDataBrowser
- InvokeMethod to dynamically call into a generic custom method of the Business Entity from the client.
More details on the currently planned features of the SmartComponent Library can be found here: http://blog.consultingwerk.de/consultingwerkblog/2010/09/smartcomponent-library-roadmap/
