Important announcement regarding the support for OpenEdge 11 of the SmartComponent Library

Dear customer of the SmartComponent Library,

 

in an earlier announcement we have warned our customers from migrating SmartComponent Library based developments to OpenEdge 11 due to two OpenEdge regression issues that prevent the usability of our base classes in the Visual Designer.

 

Progress development was able to  fix those issues and has provided the official and supported hotfix OE 11.0.0.003 now.

 

We are glad to announce the support of the current SmartComponent Library release on OpenEdge 11.0 with hotfix OE 11.0.0.003! Please check your Progress ESD accounts it that hotfix has been made available to you already or contact Progress support and ask them to make it available to you.

 

Just in case, refer to OpenEdge Bug OE00217771 and OE00217383 (actually the same issue).

 

Regardless of the ability to support OpenEdge 11.0 now without any code changes we are working hard to make a new release providing functional updates to you shortly.
