Commercial Bluetooth scale used for app

Hello,

we are trying to connect a Bluetooth scale (any scale) to an android using our own app (not the scale producers). We are trying to get the weight of wooden boards into the app to calculate the density (knowing the dimensions). Anyway, do you think we can use an existing scale and get the data via Bluetooth or would we need to build our own scale as you did? We are working with people that write the app and they think that this might be a problem because of not knowing the protocols of the integrated bluetooth.
