Weekly Update - 12-3-09

This past week has been mostly working on updating the project
notebook and design report. I have been also working on migrating the
entire project notebook over to this new site (Google Groups).

I feel as though this site will better serve the needs (more a
notebook/journal, less site maintenance). With this group being
hosted by Google I am able to worry less about the actual hosting of
the journal and the contents. This will let me spend more time with
the actual project.

I have also been working on the System Requirements assignment this
week. I do not believe that the System Requirements is a graded part
of this notebook, however, I will include the first draft that was
submitted. I felt as though the System Requirements was very
redundant of the assignments that we handed in earlier. There were a
few areas, like the ABET Essay, that made me think about topics from a
different perspective, but for the most part I felt as though I was
again rephrasing what I had already submitted prior.

Although, talking about what seems to me be the same topics a number
of times over, it helps me solidify not only in my own mind, but also
on paper, the actual structure of the Smart Player Piano. This has
helped while going back to edit the documents that have been submitted
before.

Related to the documents, I am not sure if I would like to host the
documents using Google Docs or if I'd like to keep uploading the
actual documents. For now I think it makes more sense to upload the
documents since that is what I have been doing before, however, I see
it could be beneficial to move everything online to a more easily
accessible area.
