Hi Josh and Nikolai,

This is a continuation of the conversation we had earlier today.  I believe that yesterday I had registered a client using the full MitreID UI, which was part of the reason I contacted you with questions (I hadn't filled out the information correctly).

To troubleshoot my latest problems with communicating with the SMART server, I went back into my login on https://authorize.smarthealthit.org and attempted to Edit an an existing client.  When I click that button I get an error message "Invalid client or registration access token".  I can go ahead and create a new client, but somehow I was under the impression that I already had one defined.

The Quick Registration doesn't seem to be an option for me, because I don't have a Launch URL or Logo URL at the moment.

Hi Paul,

Hi Paul,

Probably you don't have the right registration access token for the client. Unfortunately MitreID's administrative UI does not let me see the token (I can retrieve it only if I comb through the underlying database manually apparently). Also, we have a lot of clients registered recently, and I was not able to fund yours at a quick pass. I think it will be easiest if you register a new client and start fresh (make sure you keep record of the client id and registration token issued). You can use the quick registration form on our documentation site (just enter some placeholder URLs, if you don't know yours yet). If all is good, you should get the client id and registration token displayed on the screen (record them on your end). You can the use the registration token to update your client via the MitreID self-service UI.

Hope this helps,
Nikolai

Just a side note, another reason you guys will like version 1.2 of MITREid is that you can view and re-generate the registration access token for all dynamically registered clients from the admin UI. :)

Hi Nikolai,

Yesterday I created a fresh new client using the full MitreID UI (as opposed to the Quick Registration).  I verified that I was able to go back in and edit that client after specifying the client id and access token.

On subsequent attempts to get authorized from my testing client, I got back:

OAuth Error  error="invalid_client", error_description="Client with id fb47d30d-4108-4bc7-a701-967c3092d136 was not found"

I thought that maybe some activation of the new client hadn't taken place yet, so I re-tried today, and get the same outcome.  I can't tell what I might be doing wrong.

Please let me know of any help you might have for this.

Thanks,

Hi Paul,

Well, I see the client in our DSTU1 (authorize.smarthealthit.org) server, so it's there. It sounds like you may be trying to run an app against our DSTU2 sandbox, which has a separate authorization service at authorize-dstu2.smarthealthit.org which you will need to register a client with.

Ok I see now.

The full authorization that is pointed to by http://fhir-docs.smarthealthit.org/argonaut-dev/sandbox/register/ apparently gets you to the DSTU1 registration at https://authorize.smarthealthit.org.

The Sprint 2 spreadsheet has the URL that I was originally using, which is https://authorize-dstu2.smarthealthit.org/login.  I will use this URL.

Thanks,
Paul

Thanks -- we've updated the manual registration link and quick registration defaults in the argonaut branch to point to DSTU2.
