Exif doesn't work

Hi,
I'm a heavy user of SLIR and i have a issue: we are currently working on a project where we need to keep the EXIF information of the original image.
Although there is an option $copyEXIF, which we of course have set to TRUE. But it still doesn't work! Does anyone have a suggestion on how to fix this?
