The clock is ticking and what may be our
final chance to secure land near Lovettsville for future middle and
high schools MS/HS-10 will be lost in 2-3
weeks. I am asking for citizens
with interest to please join me at the next Board of
Supervisors public input session in Leesburg on February 28 at 6:30pm.
We need to say that waiting for the
School Board has failed. The School Board had a year April 2009
to April 2010 but took no action. The opportunity came back in
December2010 and nothing has happened for the last 2+
months. Therefore, since the School Board will do NOTHING on
this, we want the Board of Supervisors to take action on the McDonough
Assemblage opportunity before this contract expires. This is
our chance to ask FOR something, instead of argueing AGAINST
something.
We need to remind Supervisors that Loudoun
voters approved a bond in 2007 that included
funding for land for HS-10 and the School Board was happy to spend
$12Million of it in 2009 in Wheatland but now LCPS won't even initiate
studies on the 100+ McDonough Assemblage in Lovettsville. This is not
acceptable.
Our community and families continue to get the
shaft and we desperately need to speak up now or remain quiet and accept the
fact that our elected representatives (Supervisors Sally Kurtz sally...@loudoun.gov and Scott York
scott...@loudoun.gov and School
Board reps Jennifer Bergel jennife...@lcps.org and thoma...@lcps.org;) care
nothing about securing land for future schools for
their Lovettsville constituents.
Call/email me if you have any
questions
