P.S. More news… at School Board meeting this Tuesday night, they will be voting on the following motion:

“I Move that the Loudoun County School Board direct staff to prepare, in conjunction with Loudoun County Government staff, a proposal to consolidate the procurement function between Loudoun County Government and Loudoun County Public Schools."

Finally, LCPS' shady Land Acquisition Department may no longer be isolated.

Hello Lovettsville parents!

Lindsay Jones and I have been meeting with and in contact with Mayor Bobby Zoldos and Supervisor Geary Higgins in the hopes to make sure there is still a push for a middle and high school in our area. Well I'm HOPING we have good news! There is a meeting at Lovettsville Elementary School on Thursday, November 14 at 7:00 pm with Bobby Zoldos and Geary Higgins to update us on the possibility of a middle and/or high school for Lovettsville. I feel it is of utmost importance that we all be there to find out what they have to say and show our support. We all talk about it and are upset of the lack of progress to date. Please put this on your calendars and spread the word! Below is an email from Mayor Zoldos explaining what is going on:

I wanted to give you all a quick update on schools. As you all know, the Board of Supervisors meet a couple of weeks ago concerning schools in the Lovettsville area in closed session. While I am not privy to their discussion, I have asked our Supervisor, Geary Higgins and our School Board Member, Jen Bergel to provide us with an update so that we know what is going on with the future of our schools. The big decision will be made next Tuesday night when he Superintendent unveils his Capital Improvement Program. We will know, after that meeting, what is the plan for a new high school and middle school here. To explain what happened, I have invited Jen and Supervisor Higgins to our Town Council meeting next week (November 14 at 7PM) at the Lovettsville Elementary School. We hold our meeting there every year for American Education Week. Since so many parents will be there already to see there kids sing, it is the perfect time to have an update from them on schools. Jen cannot be there due to a school board meeting, but Supervisor Higgins will be there to explain what happened.

I am putting something to this effect in tomorrow's Friday email. I hope that you all can join us next Thursday night.
