Hello everyone,

I was able to connect with a few of you this morning and wanted to thank you for your willingness to serve. I want to start by thank you for your patience this week as we get a system going. Thanks for your grace!

The following are needs for Tuesday, a few of you have agreed to bring a few things already so thank you! For the remaining items, please let me know if you would be willing to cover any of the needs. It would be great to have them dropped off around 7 at the Youth Center but if that doesn't work for you let me know and we can work something out. If you have any comments, questions, or concerns please do not hesitate to email or call me: (415) 302-9548. The address for the Community Center is 1480 Girard St NW, there is street parking in the vicinity.

Drinks: Cherish and Matt
Dessert: Cristina and Eric
Pizzas (5): Michelle and Mike
Pizzas (5): Needed
Salad: Maggie
Salad: Needed for 10-15

Once again, thank you so much for your willingness to serve. You DO NOT need to bring plates, napkins, cups or forks we have those.

Thank you so much!

Blessing,
Jess

Hi Mike!
Unfortunately there was no consensus during small group since it was only 6 of us that came and I am not sure how many of us remembered...maybe we can start a food thread?

I just wanted to check if there was a consensus on bringing food for the Nov 8 youth club. Mary Katherine Gleissner sent me an email today asking if I could bring pizza, drinks, cookies and salad. Happy to do it, just wanted to make sure I wasn't going to duplicate efforts.

Cheers,

Mike

Hey all -

I'm on a Midwestern work trip (it's cold!) so I won't be there tonight, but please discuss if this Tuesday, Nov 8, would be a feasible night for our group to provide food for youth club at Columbia Heights community center. I need to know ASAP so I can ask other groups.  Could be as easy as buying some chips or carrots, though some will need to be willing to provide something more substantial (lasagna, pasta bake, pizzas, etc).

Sarah, please poll the group and see if we can make this happen. I only got one response so far.

Many frigid Midwestern thank yous - Jodie

Dear small group,
I was asked by Austin to help guide discussion today. As you know, we're talking about discipleship - this week I wanted to talk about taking risks. What is risky about the call to be a Christian? What have you risked to follow Jesus? What does Jesus call us to risk? How can you risk more? What is God calling you to risk in your life right now? How will you respond?

Here is some scripture to ponder on before our meeting today:

Romans 12:2 2 Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will."

Mathew 25: 34-36  34 “Then the King will say to those on his right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father; take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world. 35 For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, 36 I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.’

I am excited to see you all this evening! =)

I can pay for the other 3 pizzas.  Right now I am not sure if I can come by, but I can either have them delivered or someone can pick them up.  What size pizza?

Thank you Sara and Brian! Larges would probably be best. Sara would you be able to join us on Tuesday? For anyone that can it's a lot of fun to serve the meal and hang out with the youth. Thank you all!!!!

Thanks Mike! So I've been trying to figure out to best organize three different pizza orders. So I thought of two options. Sara, if you are already planning on picking up pizza and coming could you pick up Brian's as well? If you want to just have them delivered then we should order them from the same location and have them delivered together. Mike, do you have a preferred pizza joint? Sara please let us know tonight which way you want to do this.

Thanks!
Jess

 Jess,
I was planning on just putting an order into the Dominoes Pizza on 14th st. by the community center tomorrow eve and picking up the two pizzas/getting them there as close to 7p as possible. I was planning to stay for a bit to help serve the meal.  If you were wanting to have the pizzas delivered together, then I'm confused why we split up the sign up? I guess my understanding was that whoever signed up for whatever amount of pizza just needed to get them there by the designated time? I can pick up Brian's as well if that makes things a little easier/he doesn't have them delivered. Just let me know what works!

Hello,

Michelle and I will do exactly what Sara proposed as well. We will order the pizzas from the Dominoes on 14th and walk them to the Community Center and be there close to 7pm so they are hot, fresh and on time.

Hello everyone,

I promise last time I clog your inbox! I just wanted to thank you all SOOO MUCH for providing food for Youth Club last night. We had a great turn out, I think we served food to about 40-50 youth! And we had a prefect amount of food so thank you all.

Because we are still working out a system for food I would love to get feedback from you on what went well, what did not, and any suggestions for next time. So that we don't continue clogging inboxes if you could send feedback to me (jessica.b...@gmail.com) that would be swell (if you hit reply it goes to the group).

Thank you all once again!!!!!!!!!!

Blessings,
Jess
