ADOPTABLE AUSTRALIAN CATTLE DOG “REUBEN” HAS NO INTEREST!
$900 in reliable pledges - PLEDGE TRACKING hmw...@yahoo.com
SHELTER REPORTS: Reuben is a very sweet and loving boy!
Reuben was a candidate for the VETTECH program this week, and we hope to report more information soon.
Reuben being one of our longest residents, has deteriorated and is so frustrated. He does best when he is able to be mentally and physically stimulated. With us being over capacity we cannot spend as much time with Reuben as he needs. He is a very smart dog! He loves to come in the office and visit us.

Meet Reuben!
Besides having ears that look like they can detect radio frequencies, Reuben is a very sweet and loving boy! He loves to come in the office and help take phone calls
Reuben has been available on the adoption floor looking for a special home. Being a working dog he is hoping for an adopter already familiar with the breed or even better a breed specific rescue. His ideal home would be a home without children, owners with an active lifestyle, and a home with a large yard/land.

**Available for adoption or rescue pull**
Behavior: 01/31/2022 - P is nervous upon kennel approach but allowed leash placement after avoiding it for a moment. Walks great on leash but did low walk around the area. Seemed to warm up in the treatment room. Did well with minimal restraint and a muzzle wrap. Would not recommend a home with young kids and would need someone to give him a little more training. Otherwise, a very friendly and well-mannered dog!
Medical: 01/31/2022 - Exam: BAR. BCS: 4 out of 9. No ocular discharge OU. No inflammation or infection present on the pinnaes AU. Mild debris present. No nasal discharge. No gingivitis. Scant dental tartar present. No ectoparasites present. No flea debris visualized. No inflammation, erythema, alopecia, or infection seen. P is ambulatory. No lameness noted. Both testicles are descended and are symmetrical. Idexx Heartworm test: Negative. Making available for adoption.
02/09/2022 – Canine neuter
Dog interaction: Play Style: -Push/Pull. Category: Needs more assessment. Beneficial (B) Playgroup Session Notes: Forward and unsure at first. Loosened up some. Sexually motivated humper. Steerable. Young. Dogs in Same Session: Sadie (A49562819) Significant Incident: None. Handling/Walking to playgroup: Timid but excitable for handlers.
Other: 02/16/2022 - I was doing an interaction with a family that had two children. The children were very calm and did well in the room and gave the dog the space he needed. One child picked up a toy and Rueben lunged and growled. It made me nervous because I was unsure if this was a “play growl” and he was hard to read. Then he did it again a few minutes later to the other child that was sitting beside the adult. I did not like this behavior so I removed him from the room. After talking to the shelter supervisor we made him a no kid home.

Sheba is needing immediate rescue placement due to medical. Sheba lived her early life outside on a chain. She wants to know what it’s like to have a warm bed is and a roof over her head. Sheba came in suffering from a rectal prolapse which has since been repaired. 3) BRUNO was nervous initial and now loves to climb into your lap!
$500 in reliable pledges - PLEDGE TRACKING hmw...@yahoo.com
He is another long term resident. He has been with us since the beginning of February, when he was surrendered due to the owner being unable to care for him. He has finished his initial doxycycline for heartworm treatment! When Bruno first came in he was very nervous in kennel (making him ineligible for adoption). He has come around so much! He now comes to the front of the kennel with excitement. He allows staff to enter his kennel and leash him. He is a petite boy at 39lbs and loves to climb into your lap!
Meet Bruno! Calling all boxer rescues, Bruno is looking for rescue placement. He is a very sweet boy who is treat motivated. He is learning how to walk calmly on leash. He is just so eager to go for walks!
He is currently rescue only due to being a little nervous in his kennel but he is learning quickly he can trust us.
