ADOPTIONS!Our lucky pups who found their four-leaf-clover-forever homes!Lady Bentley OakleyHere is Bentley's story:Bentley arrived in rescue last fall from a San Diego-area shelter. Bentley made his grand entrance into rescue by chewing through his harness, eating up his medical shot record and chewing through his slip lead all before meeting with our veterinarian. My, did we have a mouthy pup on our hands! Our Vets noticed a slight limp on his back leg + some muscle atrophy. X-rays revealed an old fracture that never healed properly. Our Orthopedic Vet specialist recommended FHO surgery to give this youngster the best quality of life. Before surgery, we were able to find a foster who would take him in prior to surgery and afterwards. Our patient foster family took care of Bentley and started teaching him manners and boundaries. Bentley had a secure home and family, plus a new sibling to zip around with. After FHO surgery, Bentley had to be calm and heal for 2 months, which was no easy feat for him or his foster family. After surgery Bentley required physical therapy to strengthen his weaken leg and learn how to walk properly. Meanwhile, Bentley caught the eye of a potential adopter willing to continue with Bentley through his physical therapy. Bentley and his adoptive family were a great match for each other and they love Bentley dearly. Bentley now has his own family who will give him all the attention he needs. Welcome home, Bentley!
