Summarize your bug The game banned me for "cheating," when I didn't even come close to fitting any of the criteria. No background software (since this game runs so poorly), no exploiting, no "boosting" (unless you count the one match of solo I played, against bots that YOU IMPLEMENTED). Other players in "General Discussion" have confirmed the same ban. You have a system flaw. A big one.
How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Be moderately good at the game and * off bad players who abuse your report system.
What happens when the bug occurs? I'm literally denied what I paid for.
What should be happening instead? I get what I paid for.
Alright, so...I made a thread in "General Discussion" and received enough replies confirming the same "cheating" ban. I'm certain this game will have its share of cheaters, but I'm going to safely assume that a bunch of them didn't get banned by DAY TWO of early access and weirdly decide to congregate on the game's official forum. One of them was even a streamer who got banned live on the first day ( =IWqDY2wNuKg).
This "zero-tolerance policy" is clearly more of a "zero-oversight policy." You either have an automated system that thoughtlessly bans when a squad of buddies gets crapped on and reports in bulk, or you have a incompetent and trigger-happy (pun intended) staff at the button. Either way, this needs to be at the forefront of issues addressed, and some form of compensation is necessary.
@llOneEyedKingllI was banned November 14 11:37 am est, for "cheating" which is obviously bogus as I did no type of cheating. I appealed it that same day and I received an email today saying that they did a full investigation on my account and they won't be revoking the ban. Vathsala T if you get to read this please do another real investigation, look at my gameplay or whatever.
I was banned on December of last year and since the day I realized that BF2042 staff never cared about my case I started my own research of why the hell I was banned. I have been studying Reverse Engineering and how AntiCheats work... so I ended up with a conclusion.
To hack games you need programs and some of these programs can be tracked by Easy AC and some others antihacks solutions. That seems fair right? Yep kind of... But what they do not tell you is that you can be banned just for having any program labeled as "hack program" on your processes list, does not matter if you are hacking bf2042 or not, if the program was tracked you are busted.
Programs like some debuggers and mostly Cheat Engine. Cheat Engine indeed can be used to reverse engineer games, but most of it users just use it to hack "gold" , "lives", "Experience" , "Skills" on offline games, which is pretty easy. However, if you want to hack a game like BF2042 you need tons of more experience and knowledge than just "type a value and search" to change it later.. to hack a protected game you need to study hard programming, low level programming, assembly, maybe network protocols and so on.
So, what am I trying to say with all this?
If you are just a regular player that have ever used Cheat Engine, or maybe you are a Reverse Engineer student, or you are trying to learn anything that includes debuggers and memory mappers you might be labelled as a Hacker, you doesnt even have to try to hack BF2042, you just need to have any kind of these programs opened while you open the game... Does not matter if you close it just after you open the game because you were already scanned and your process list was already sent to Easy AntiCheat. That means that you can be banned for an assumption of hacking, they are not even sure that you have hacked, it is just a guess based on a opened program.
I hope this clarify some bans for some unfortunate players out there. I am posting this because EA Games does not give us any reasonable explanation about the Bans and those who were banned without any explanation may find here that this might be your case.
Just installed 3 rgb fans with a control hub
Had to plug control hub into the internal USB hub on the motherboard to get lights to work on my brothers computer
He started the game killed 2 people and the game closed and anticheat says unplug usb it detected something suspicious...
banned 2 days for having 3 RGB fans with a light hub with 6 slots.
This game is so broken!
He Uninstalled. Not worth a steam ban on his account
iCUE SP120 RGB ELITE Performance 120mm PWM Cooling Fan w/ Lighting Node CORE, 3-Pack
I installed this with the RGB controller it comes with. I didnt install any software. It did driver updates and he just went into game
We both sat there watching invisible people with floating guns. Or every match it freezes just before going to main menu . He has to ctrl alt deleted to exit the game . Now hes banned. This game put a sour taste in both our mouths . We both uninstalled disgusting EA can treat people like this !
My brother has a total of 6 hours played. Most of that time was ctrl alt delete to get out every match . Cuz it just black screens . We verified his game multiple times . Black screens are more common after verify.
I have the game and never cheated . I played a total of 16 hours. After seeing my brother getting banned . I'm not dealing with it either so I uninstalled too.. bought battlefield 5 we never played never installed . After this we probably wont install any EA games.
If anyone would like to continue this discussion, feel free to create a new thread. However, if you have been banned, you will need to contact the Terms of Service team, as bans can't be appealed on these forums:
2. properties of 2042.exe > Digital Signatures > double clicked on the EA digital signature > View certificate > install certificate and I just clicked next so it installed on the default settings. I did the same thing for the anticheat in the game folder.
None of these worked for me and reinstalling the game did not help either. HELP EA, PLEASE FIX THE GAME!
This game worked for me for over a year until 3/14/23 and now it will not even run at all! Please get rid of your stupid, broken EA app, Origin was better and that sucked too. I have already tried the other recommendations in other topics too, no wonder we cannot make a new topic or contact a representative for actual help when the game does not even launch.
Just wanted to add, that i have the same problem.
For what i have tried was the following:
So freshly installed EA app and Battlefield 2042. When i can click several times on launcher for the game, where it starts up the Anticheat and then goes back to the launcher.
After several tries, Something happens, i big pop up command like box just in black appears, and then my system i kinda stalling - meaning that if i want to open something, like task manager or a new TAB in chrome. Nothing happens. Only apps i already have opened on my computer, i can intereact with. Everything else is stalled until that black windows has closed, because when it has closed, THEN battlefield 2042 starts up (lol) and for that record, it takes 2-3 minutes of waiting with that black box.
That is the only solution i have, just try to launch the game again and again, until that black box appears, and then wait several minutes.
I have tried the Certificate trick
Administrator on/off for launcher/exe/Anticheat
Reinstall and Repair
Game Mode disable/enable
Disable Network, launch game - Just goes back to launcher
Allowed the game access with firewall
Also with Anti virus etc - the game is cleared
Nothing in Windows Registry that gives any hint of, what has happened.
I play trough Xbox Gamepass PC - with EA app installed of course, and launching the game directly from the folder, from EA or from Xbox, no effect.
And altso, running newest GPU drivers for my RTX 4080, with 5800X AMD CPU, Windows 11, 32GB RAM.. so plenty of resources also.
The game Rust is using the same Anti cheat engine, and that games works fine. So i kinda ruled out, that my system should be block that Anti cheat engine
And lastly, i can launch the game, after several tries as described above.
I hope my observations can lead someone to another solution, not posted before.
The game received mixed reviews from critics and a more negative reception from players for its technical issues, lack of features, and certain changes to the gameplay. The game failed to meet the sales expectations of Electronic Arts. A new Battlefield installment, under the head of Motive Studio, is in development.[1]
Similar to its predecessors, Battlefield 2042 is a multiplayer-focused first-person shooter. As the game is set in the near future, it features futuristic weapons and gadgets like deployable turrets and drones, as well as vehicles that players can control.[2] Players can request a vehicle air-drop to any location.[3] The game introduced a "Plus" system which allows players to customize their weapons on the spot. The class system is significantly overhauled and removes the four defined classes from previous games; instead, players can assume control of a specialist who falls under the four traditional Battlefield gameplay classes of Assault, Engineer, Medic, and Recon. These characters can wield any of the weapons and gadgets that a player has unlocked. Each operator has their own unique skills and gadgets. For instance, one of the specialists, Emma "Sundance" Rosier, is equipped with a wingsuit, while another, Maria Falck, is equipped with a healing pistol.[4] There are extreme weather effects such as tornadoes and sandstorms which may affect gameplay.[5] The game featured seven maps at launch, including 'Breakaway', the largest map in the history of the Battlefield franchise.[6]
