There are a few good brushes but there are also a lot of brushes which gives a repeating pattern of stripes and squares on my 8000 x 8000 canvas. Just because of this big canvas I bought paper brushes. So I am disappointed.
I created the Spring Witch illustration on my iPad Pro 2017 in Procreate.
We can discuss if digital art is equally valuable as traditional, but digital software makes things easier. Especially with such tools as undo or liquify.
I used a soft brush to create the first draft in procreate, and another from Inkdup set, to draw clean lines in an ink style. I saved this illustration in 3 color variations ( black lines, gray lines, and sepia lines) and printed the light gray version on a creamy, recycled paper

So far it looks more like Dalmatian fur, than recycled paper. In recycled paper you often find bits of different colored papers in uneven shapes. To achieve this look, we will apply an Effect on our shapes.
However, now that you know how to create a recycled paper texture, you can use these patterns to enhance vector illustrations and give them a retro look. I will demonstrate this with one of my illustrations. I created a new shape above my illustration, filled it with my pattern and set its Blend Mode to Soft Light and its Opacity to 50%.
