As you cannot answer these in Beeper, you need to keep the original whatsapp notifications for them in place. However, the notification from whatsapp (that contains the answer button) gets overwritten everytime by the useless notification from Beeper that I should answer this in Whatsapp... which I can't because the notificaiton is gone.
Been encountering an issue for some months now where if one does a WhatsApp video call between the Portal Plus (15.6") and an iPhone, the iPhone's video drops out on the Portal after a few seconds, and only audio remains. No issues between Portal and WhatsApp on Android phones.
I am wondering if there is a way I can detect a skype call/telegram/whatsapp/fb messenger call etc in progress or incoming call etc just like the regular phone call with telephony manager/listener? I would like to have some kind of mechanism that detects an ongoing /incoming etc call from skype/telegram etc for my app. I came across this solution :Call Detection for skype in android but not sure if it'll work for all generic messenger apps. Is there a hack or any kind of listener I can implement on my side that allows me to detect these? Any ideas would be awesome.
Set up a three-way call with two computers on your side. The magic computer has no microphone or a microphone in full Mute. Set up to record the speaker or headphone feed. Start the recording. You two carry on as normal. The magic third computer listens to everything and shovels it all off to Audacity with little or no damage.
The calls features are only available in WhatsApp native Desktop app 64-bit(Which the official website show that only Mac and window native app for desktop are available ), not in WhatsApp Web,and unfortunately they haven't developed the native app for Linux. The one which we are installing and using from Ubuntu-Software is Web version. That's why the call feature is not available in that.
If you are really interested in using WhatsApp, then the solution is to install an Android emulator such as Genymotion and within that emulator install and use WhatsApp. This will enable the video and audio calling features.
Signal is made with the help of the original WhatsApp-Developer and it is much better. You have better voice quality if you call someone, you have Video-call integrated in the desktop-App and everything what you have with the phone-App. You can send pictures with original quality, they will not be converted down if you do not want it.
Same issue here, tried all the options - Airplane mode, Wifi switch On and Off, Cellular On and Off, Local Network is ON- nothing worked I took a backup of phone and then did a reinstall of IOS14 and then Whatsapp worked for couple of hours and then again same issue - Audio and Video calls are not working. Have a 300 Mbps line at home and also Cellular speed is 15-20 Mbps.
I have the same issue. I called Apple Support, and they said that the problem is with WhatsApp. The app is not updated to hold the iOS 14, so that's why video and audio calls fail. And that we should be on a lookout for an app update from Whatsapp.
I had the same issue with WhatsApp. None of the below solutions worked for me. What did work, though, was turning my firewall setting down to low (in the router's settings). Immediately I was able to make calls again. It seems that when the firewall is set to medium/high, it blocks WhatsApp calls.
@JulieWok If it's not working, it's likely that there is a proxy action or application control rule blocking it. Do you see any deny lines in your firewall's traffic monitor when you try and initiate a call. That should help point you in the right direction on what needs to be modified.
I'd suggest determining why it's being blocked before making rule changes.
While listening to podcasts or watching videos, my bluetooth headset has good quality audio. However when I receive a phone call, the phone call audio crackles and breaks up. It is audible, but the same way a very bad quality phone call from across the globe is still audible. The audio of the call is in actuality just fine and the crackling etc. appears somewhere between the phone and the headset, since if i drop the bluetooth connection and continue on speaker or normally, phone-on-ear, there are no issues at all.
In June 2023, WhatsApp announced an additional privacy feature: Silence Unknown Callers. We launched this feature for the benefits it has for not only privacy but also security. The experience is simple: with the setting turned on, calls from unknown numbers do not ring your phone. Having carefully built this feature to minimize attack surface and external data processing, we are able to help protect users from not only unwanted contact, but also cyber attacks and spyware.
Instead, WhatsApp built a specialized protocol for delivering stripped-down, silenced call notifications to recipients. The server enforces this protocol, protecting the recipient device from the complexity of normal call setup and from processing attacker-controlled data.
Do any of you regularly use whatsapp to make phone calls to Italy from the US? I've searched the Forum posts and most refer to using it for calls while in Italy. The owner of our Rome rental apartment (this fall) has become a great friend in the past year via weekly emails and Skype - I speak/write Italian and she speaks/writes English and we have a blast correcting each other! She recently put whatsapp on her phone and wants me to do this so we can call each other. Is it really free long distance as long as I'm on wifi? My phone is android. Any tips on how this works will be greatly appreciated!
I use it all the time for texting and calling friends i've made in italy, Germany, Switzerland and Crotia. It uses your data not your cell network. It's great over WIFI. it even links up to your contact list (least on iphone) and shows you which person has what's app.
Susan, Our youngest daughter is doing a semester at UEA in Norwich. We have been texting and calling using WhatsApp. It has worked great. As a matter of fact our daughter was in Rome last week and we were talking to her while she was there.
Has anyone tried to make calls thru Whatsapp using carnival WiFi? The website says Whatsapp is included in the $5 a day social media package, which I know includes the instant message, but I'm wondering if actual calls can be made using this plan like when I'm on land .
I haven't had anyone I've sailed with on the "social" plan get calls to work (be it thru FaceTime audio, or Whatsapp). This makes sense since it is the other packages intended for streaming, the social package is really just for basic posting/messaging.
For what it's worth, I always use the "premium" package and even with that I've struggled to get a signal for a call (not even video call) on both ships I've had it on. I mentioned it at Guest Services both times since that package is advertised to support Skype etc video calling, which is definitely did not.
I made calls through Facebook messenger on Splendor & Pride. There is about a 5 sec delay. I had to go outside on higher deck to get connection. My hubby at home was getting a bit annoyed with delay, but it's better than $1.99 a min from cabin.
Some of the best conversations happen when you least expect it. Now, if someone in your group misses a call when the phone rings, they can still join whenever they like. You can also drop-off and re-join so long as the call is still ongoing.
But once in a while, one of my older relatives decides to make a voice call to me. In that case the WhatsApp app starts playing this annoying ringing which I cannot kill, that is very frustrating especially if I'm at work.
In order to silence the ringer during an incoming WhatsApp call, you can turn off all the "Notifications," and prevent the WhatsApp from accessing your microphone by going to Settings > WhatsApp >Notifications. Please note that this will disable all the notifications on WhatsApp including the chat/message notification.
If you'd like to receive sound notification for text/chat and only disable the ringer for incoming WhatsApp call, then you should disable the "Banner" alerts, and prevent the WhatsApp from accessing your microphone by going to Settings > WhatsApp > Notifications.
Is there any Skype number to reach out paypal philippines? Or Whatsapp number or any method? Because if we contact through the direct line, it will cost a huge amount of money. Can we reach an agent there via above platforms?
