Pretty late on the answer, but if you have a TextView that you're showing the phone number in, then you don't need to deal with intents at all, you can just use the XML attribute android:autoLink="phone" and the OS will automatically initiate an ACTION_DIAL Intent.
As @ashishduh mentioned above, using android:autoLink="phone is also a good solution. But this option comes with one drawback, it doesn't work with all phone number lengths. For instance, a phone number of 11 numbers won't work with this option. The solution is to prefix your phone numbers with the country code.
I have downloaded the app. on my Android phone but when I click open, I just get a white screen with 'Just a moment' and a spinning wheel. Does anyone know why it will not open? I have a Hauwei Honor 9 Lite, EMUI version 9. I am trying to install Total Protection.
Thank you for responding. I'm afraid I am not very technical so don't know how to do a screen shot and send but I did download from Google store. I do have the Mcafee icon on my phone but when I click on it I just the the blank white screen and the 'Just a moment' message? It is version 6.3.0.106. I have just purchased the Total Protection which I am trying to renew, as far as I know I have last years on it as I have not been able to get my new purchase installed, unless it automatically updates once I had put the new activation code in for my laptop?
Thank you. I have just checked again and it is now showing version 6.4.1.285 but I still cannot open the app? as my original question, when I click on the McAfee icon, I just get a white screen with 'Just a moment' and a spinning wheel. I didn't update the version as there is no option to update so it must have done it automatically?
This time the phone app works fine. But on the Mac I cannot open my notes in Firefox OR Safari. In Firefox the web client is stuck after login on an empty screen. In Safari it will sometimes get as far as displaying empty note boxes, but no more. Usually it shows an empty screen with the green loading ring. Again, I should be grateful for any helpful hints.
In the field of VoIP networking, the Open Phone Abstraction Library (OPAL) continues the open-source openh323 project to support a wide range of commonly used protocols used to send voice, video and fax data over IP networks rather than being tied to the H.323 protocol. Initially, from 2007, OPAL supported the H.323 and Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) protocols, but it has grown to include Asterisk IAX2.

Knowing how to access the settings menu on your phone is essential for customizing and managing your device effectively. Whether you have an Android or iPhone, several methods can lead you to this crucial part of your phone.
Most modern phones come with a search function that helps you find apps and settings quickly. Android users can often use the search bar at the top of their home screen or app drawer. For iPhone users, swiping down on the home screen will reveal Spotlight Search, a powerful tool to search for the settings menu or specific settings options directly.
For quick adjustments, both Android and iPhone offer shortcut methods. Android users can swipe down from the top of their screen to access Quick Settings, while iPhone users can swipe up from the bottom (or down from the top-right corner on newer models) to open the Control Center. Here, they can access essential settings without diving into the full settings menu.
