Is there a way to limit the initial download, I have run this over and over and it fails as the log reaches 3,400KiB.

I have been keeping PvOutput up to date with PVBeanCounter so I only need sma-bluetooth to take over & don't need to be downloading all the data from the inverter, just todays would be fine.

If I could specify to only download 1-2 days data it might complete before hanging then after a few weeks, once the database is populated I could remove the date constraint.

I have tried 3 different dongles, one a Bluetooth 3.0 all with the same result the data collection freezes when the log reaches the same point.

installed on a pi which all appears to work ok until it has collected about 99% of data then just hangs.

I have attached log.

Any advice welcome as I'm a bit lost now.

Many thanks.

I should also add, I see why the file is always the same size, it's as it reaches the current date and time it hangs.

How long have you waited? I'm using a Pandaboard myself which has a CPU that is a bit more powerfull. It updates a database every 5 minutes with the data from 2 inverters. However when I look at a manual run it can take some time to process everything. At the end of the day it takes sma-bluetooth over a minute to process all data from a single inverter. A few days ago i noticed a hickup in the system and had to redownload about 5 days worth of data and it took SMA-Bluetooth about 5 minutes per inverter to process it.

And you can specify a date range (at least you could in older versions so i assume it is still possible)

./smatool -from "2012-09-25 00:00:00" -to "2012-09-25 23:59:59" -a 00:80:25:1C:e2:05

I have left it several hours, the most was over 8 hours when I went to bed and just left it in case it needed time to process everything.

Putty does not return to the command line and (even after 8+ hours) I have to terminate the session, If I terminate the putty session I can log straight back in with no issue.

No matter how long I leave it there is no further update to the log after it gets to the current time and as in the examples the last line in the log is always half written, never complete.
Where is the MySQL database is it smatool itself? I ask because no other file changes in size or change date (only the log changes nothing else), if data is being written to the database these should change?

the tree goes root>home>pi>bin>sma-bluetooth within pi there is a file MySQL but it remains 0b and not updated since install.
