A big welcome Mary Berry of Fancy Fibers!  She'll be joining us for the first time this year.  She's volunteered to be moderator for our Ravelry group ( http://www.ravelry.com/groups/slv-folk-arts-and-fiber-festival ) Please welcome her on Rav and help us start up some fun conversations.  "FancyFibers offers beautiful luxury fibers harvested from The Fancy Fibers Farm, as well as hand knit clothing and hand spun (often hand dyed) yarn." Take this chance to view her website - www.fancyfibers.com She's donating one of her February Batt's of the Month for this weeks giveaway.

I'll be closing last weeks giveaway at 3pm (MST) and opening up the new giveaway at the same time.  Be sure you get entered in both contests (more info below)

Another new vendor this year is Byron Williams of Accokeek Baskets & Gourds.  He does beautiful work with his handwoven baskets and altered gourds. "My baskets, gourds and other creations frequently get an embellishment or two as finishing touches. These add whim and fancy to the work, but provide symbolism as well. The fetishes, I suppose, are obvious, but the leather, antler, wood, glass, clay and metal beads, feathers, shells, sweet grass, and horsehair all serve to help me honor nature and life spirits through my work." There's a large selection of his lovely work on his website - www.artgourdsbybyron.com

Rejoining us for their second year is Jean Eichheim of Woolly Designs.  I found a GREAT crocheted Cheshire cat and a perfectly balanced spindle in their booth last year.  I can't wait to see what new things they bring this year.  They carry "Wool Handspinning fleece, High performance Drop spindles or a variety of unique hand-crafted items made from our home grown, hand spun yarns" and
"all the wonderful things that Jean has made with her home-spun, crocheted yarns (from her own sheep)" Check out their online presence ate - www.Woollydesigns.com

This weeks giveaway is offered by Chris of Bristlecone Artisan Heirlooms.  He donated a Cocobolo Mini Nostepinne from his shop for our giveaway this week.  Bristlecone has Fiber Art tools, Jewelry, Hair accessories, Toys, and Lampwork.  If you haven't yet entered this weeks contest, go to his website - http://bristlecone.artfire.com, find something that you love.  Then go to our blog to comment: http://news.slvfest.com

Finally, we'd like to welcome Jennifer Smith-Nelson of HairballYarn.  She carries yarn, fiber, and knitting gifts.  She offers free shipping in the US. Whimsical labels and fun descriptions include lots of fun kitty references in this shop!  Come check out her offerings online - www.hairballyarn.com and then come touch her stuff in her booth at the festival!

Thanks for checking out our vendors, and joining the fun on our contests!  Talk to you again next week...
