SLV Folk Art and Fiber Festival

It’s that time again! Time to sign up; reserve your spot, your booth for the 6th annual SLV Folk Arts and Fiber Festival! For info and application, visit http://www.slvfest.com/ or email ad...@slvfest.com. If you’re already signed up, we thank you! Our official vendor info packet will go live, online in June, as will our workshop offerings! The sooner you sign up, the more available your name and work are available for publicity purposes, so do not wait any longer! Why should you sign up? 1. We have great publicity! a. We have 1100 fans and (and it’s growing rapidly!) on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/slvfest. b. We will be in Spin Off’s June email blast to 52,000 readers with direct links to our schedules, vendors and prize raffles. c. We have links and traffic to our website from many major art, special event, travel and fiber websites—and we include links to your site from there! d. We are included in many of the major/local vacation guides as an attraction. 2. We draw people from all over Colorado, Texas, New Mexico and from far away as Florida! (Yep, we know a FL couple who plan their vacation around the fest every year!) 3. It’s affordable! You can reserve a spot for as little as 75.00/per day (Friday is optional), and 95.00 for two spaces. 4. This fest is artist run. We know what we like in a vending/festival experience and want you to be happy too. 5. We have great fun! But you already got that from the number of exclamation points in this email, yes? ;) Here’s a scrap of the press release we’re working on. It will go out with more detail mid-June. The SLV Folk Arts and Fiber Festival, aka the SLVFest, spins into its sixth year July 13, in Monte Vista, CO with a day of vendors in Marsh Park and a launch party under the "big tent" in the evening. The festivities continue in Marsh Park on Saturday and Sunday, July 14th & 15th for two more days of food, art, crafts, demonstrations, retail, music and contests—including a visitor favorite—spinning contests on Sunday! Friday is an optional day for vendors. They will begin setting up in the park at roughly 11am. Friday evening the kickoff party runs from 5-7pm under the big tent. This is a potluck/dance evening with live music! Bring your some snacks to share, and plan to relax in the beautiful Colorado evening air. Saturday the festival continues from 9am - 6pm. Vendors from Colorado, New Mexico, Montana and more show their wares ranging including yarn/fiber, handmade baskets, gourds to glass and ceramics. The Monte Arts Council will offer demonstrations and face painting all day. Festival hours are 9am - 4pm on Sunday. Annual spinning, knitting, and crochet contests with prizes including new spinning wheel, Silk and Angelina spinning basket and more start at noon. There will be a drawing for a new, Louet Spinning Wheel at 1PM. Tickets, $4 each or four for $15, are available at the festival or in advance at http://www.slvfest.com/.
