CallieDel Boa has agreed to manage Public Relations.  I only twisted her arm a little....
YAY!!  Thank you CallieDel!

I'm sending her the PR contacts lists we have so far - any new stuff, including locations for donation boxes, should go to her.

This is to avoid duplicating our efforts.  I hate getting solicited for the same thing more than once or twice iSL, and I know most people feel that way.  We still need more people to do PR of course - if you know someone who is interested, he or she should IM me (to get on the credits list and in the SL group with the right title) and then talk to CallieDel.

On the donation boxes:
Only VdayAccountant Telling (ToryLynn's alt) is allowed to rez a donation box.  So parcel owners who would like to host a box have to give VdayAccountant the right land perms to make that happen.  If you have a group/ parcel willing to do this (thank you!!!), please put the information on a notecard and send it to ToryLynn Writer.

Donations can also be made directly to VdayAccountant Telling.  If a group wants to do a fund raiser and donate the funds directly, without hosting a box, that's how they should do it.

The reasons for this have to do with proper internal control/fund control and reporting.  Any questions on how the money is handled, please contact Ada Radius.

I'll post this information at the SL group window in a few days, after I'm sure the donation system is running smoothly.

:)  thank you everyone.  Volunteer recruiting is going well.  I'll post a list um tomorrow I think.

Sure, another idea is to create a google spreadsheet for the
accounting records and then share it as read-only with the group.

yah, that's what I wanted, too.  I tried google spreadsheet, and gave up in frustration.  the program sucks compared to MS Excel, go figure, and setting up to share google documents is even more frustrating and (most important) time consuming.  It's still beta for google - this time next year will undoubtedly be much better.

Tory is downloading the VdayAccounting Teller transactions from the SL website and sending them to me to compile.  I'll file reports from that.

DEAR EVERYONE: This is not for public consumption but for our group
only. I will ask you to hold your tongues. I have just finished
talking with Philip Linden and sending him the folder on our event. I
never know what that means or if he will get back with me or not. But
I do know he NEVER replies unless he has an interest. I was just
excited and wanted to share this with you all.

(lots more people gathering interest....I think we need to think very

REGARDING PUBLICITY-----Callie...etc.

I just found out that Reveal Magazine did an article on us. I have
just left another post how SLNN would like to do a story. We will need
to know who has done stories....who wants to do stories....who should
we try to contact to do stories. Callie can you put this
together.....Also, I think we should be thinking of making these
stories coincide with milestones of our group. Example (from this
point)

Group to buy Tickets - open
Location of show - chosen (with lm)
Major Sponsors and number of other sponsors..and why they sponsor
Coordination with giving and association with VDay outworld
Dress Rehearsals (btw is there a limit for these by the rules)

Anyhow this is just to put a thought together...those above are not
necessarily the right Highlights.

Remember....everyone who reads this CAN EXPAND our universe.

that.

Hi Lauren, I've been doing that.  Every evening I go through the VDay group list inworld and update my notecard there, then I transfer the information to my spreadsheet.  Every few day's I'm updating the page at the VDay google group Pages.  At the same time I'm talking to people in the group as they contact me (or I contact them, but there's less time to do that lately) and putting them on a volunteer roster.  Now that we have most of the tasks more-or less covered I'll post that list to a google group page as well.  New volunteers are always gratefully welcome - everyone should have their contacts IM me about where we still need help, and either join the SL Vday group, or ask me to invite them.

Ada...do you think once in awhile we should contact those who leave and see if they can come back when we sell tickets etc (and keep their name)

shoot, that's a good idea and I haven't been doing that - too focussed on volunteers and not enough on PR.
I'll see if I can reconstruct my lists and figure out who those people are.  It's about six people altogether, I think.

Centaur has way too many groups, and she's banned from too many
places. Infinity is still innocent and has expendable groups.

no problem - Ina Centaur on the program credits, though?

This just in: (And on a personal note I will Contact Bopete and see how they manage to do it, seems they have experience:

[20:12] Bopete Yossarian: A quick hi! And sorry if I sounded a little
frustrated (bitchy?) at the meeting uhh... whenever it was.. I know
things are just getting rolling and organized - was just eager to get my
business partner involved, as he's not only really networked here in SL
as well as being tuned in to what works well in world, but he's also
sat on numerous RL boards for charitible organizations, so can't help but
think that his input would be very helpful. So will be eagerly
watching as everyone gets more organized :-)

Yes, but keep in mind that Ina Centaur is not Ina Republic.

Right - on the roster I have Ina Centaur as pre-production, Ina Republic is an actress.

You already did pre-production.  I was at the meeting, LOL.  You persuaded Tory and me to produce, and we mapped out the general outlines.  And you were very clear that you didn't want to produce, because you don't.  It's all good.  No project this complex would be possible without many people's contributions, and a strong organizational structure. But it starts with pre-production, which is your gift.  So, pat yourself on the back already.

LOL! I've yet to encounter "pre-production" as a single-person credit!
Pre-production is usually much more complex than finding producers
(it's basically the whole process of accumulating and creating sets
and wardrobe, script formulation and dissection, all that, mad sex
with a dramaturge, and um... basically preparing all the elements...
because once production starts, the schedule is hectic, and everything
should be ready). But, it's interesting how the terminology varies
across theatres!

LOL, hm I never had sex with the dramaturge, a missed opportunity, I see that now.  Yes, the term does vary from theater to theater, come to think of it - in opera it was mostly hiring and arranging, because rehearsals and set building and costume making for a new production take place more or less simultaneously - there just isn't physical space to do it otherwise, the way a season is structured.  Restaging an existing production is simpler of course - logistics of crating the stuff in and setting it up.  In film, the sequence is entirely different.  SL moves faster than RL, of course, we're reinventing as we go, and everything is virtual except the voices.  It's interesting.
