I can't seem to figure out how to do a query against a partition.

sreport cluster AccountUtilizationByUser user=bill cluster=della, no
issues. Works as expected.

sreport cluster AccountUtilizationByUser Partitions=cpu cluster=della
gives me

Unknown condition: Partitions=cpu

and then prints out the output ignorning this option.

I just need an example on how to use this option. I'm sure it's my
density in reading the man pages though!

Thanks,
Bill

Hi Bill,
Are you sure you have the name of your partition right? If I specify a
partition which does not exist, I get the behaviour you report.

Cheers,

Loris

My read of the sreport manpage on our currently installed version (21.08) is that the "partitions" condition is only available for job reports, not cluster reports.  The description of that condition is in "OPTIONS SPECIFICALLY FOR JOB REPORTS".  For example:

sreport job SizesByAccount user=me cluster=mycluster partitions=default

I don't know of a way to do cluster reports by partition and I get a similar error when running the cluster report with partitions options set.  Not sure how it's working for Loris...

The Partitions=<OPT> option is only valid for "sreport job".

Thanks. You are right, now that I understand the heading in the man
page. Not quite what I was hoping for here! Oh well, back to the
drawing board.

Thanks all.

Quoting my previous posting on Nov 5, 2021 to this list:

This should probably be a FAQ The sreport utility can't provide
accounting information for partitions

Alternatively, I have written the accounting tools slurmacct and
topreports which are available from
https://github.com/OleHolmNielsen/Slurm_tools/tree/master/slurmacct

While the output has a different format, we find this more useful than
sreport because the lines are sorted in the order of usage percentages.

Dammit! Completely forgot that I have these right here in my home
directory! And I probably used your tools last year when I generated
the report.

Thank you Ole for making me remember!
