Each screen contains items listed at the bottom that must be found before you can explore other locations or extend your vacation and unlock additional scenes as with most hidden object games. Some objects require small interactivity to complete like placing batteries in the flashlight in addition to standard single word item search. To complete a level the player is presented a mini puzzle which can be one of several styles from tile matching, crosswords, or match 3 to name a few. Current status is provided at the end of each level for points, time elapsed, and objects found etc.

When the stress of spooky mansions, missing relatives and creepy asylums gets to me I love to kick back and go on vacation with a lush beautiful "Vacation Quest" game. Simple and satisfying. Sun and fun is a great antidote to the gray winter days!
Your vacation starts out with 21 days and can be extended based on the number of boomerangs you are able to find. Each location contains three cleverly hidden boomerangs. You can extend your vacation by up to seven days and unlock additional bonus locations by finding these boomerangs. Once you find 50 of the hidden boomerangs, you are able to unlock two bonus game modes.
After each day of your vacation has been completed and you have found the hidden items required for each location, you can read a summary of the events in your travel journal. This provides you with details regarding your score, any time bonuses received, total level score, level time, number of boomerangs found and your total game score.
Assume the role of an adventurer on vacation. Hunt for valuable objects by searching through a variety of locations in 28 larger areas. Manage individual items and unlock more cues to find more important bits of the story. Keep track of your high score.
