Hi,

I'm new to the forum, and LUG.

Have you tried a usb stick with clamwin or someother portable scanner on it. Check out http://portableapps.com/apps/utilities/clamwin_portable 

and also try this http://legroom.net/software/uniextract

you could use this utility to install other non-portable apps onto a usb stick. (It often allows you to install the whole program into one folder and then run it from a usb stick....very cool. It's not 100%, but I have used it successfully with a lot of programs especially anti-malware and anti-virus.
