Role: Network and Firewall Administrator

Location: New York, NY

Duration: 6+ Months Contract

 

DESCRIPTION OF the work

The resource is required to provide Networking and Firewall Administration Support from the ICC offices in New York.

Tasks and Responsibilities:

·         Configure and support the Cisco Network Infrastructure based on Nexus (7010, 5548 and 1000v), Catalyst switches (4500, 3850, 3750, 3560), and ISR/ASR1000 Routers

·         Support and administer  CHECKPOINT Firewalls 

·         Support and administer Cisco Wireless Controllers

·         Monitor usage, evaluate, troubleshoot the WAN (Wide Area Network)

·         Perform first and second level support, including problem investigation, troubleshooting and contact with vendors and maintenance companies

·         Review network equipment logs and alerts, and perform any corrective actions

·         Monitor network usage and evaluate the performance of the network infrastructure

·         Prepare and update technical documentation and configuration templates where needed

·         Provide telephone “stand-by” support outside business hours when required.

 

Functional and Technical Skills:

 

·         Cisco installation, configuration, security and best practices implementation and troubleshooting

·         Checkpoint Firewall administration – good understanding of networking protocols and standards

·         Checkpoint CCSA, CCSE or equivalent training and/or equivalent certifications   

·         Cisco Wireless controllers equipment administration

·         VPN secure IPSEC or GRE Tunnels configuration and troubleshooting

·         Sound knowledge of TCP/IP Networking and protocols

 

Experience: 

 

·         Five or more years hands-on experience managing and configuring Cisco devices

·         Five or more years hands-on experience administering Checkpoint Firewalls

·         Three or more years of experience working in a 7/24 large Data Centre environment
