Got an email about a securities register.   The interesting thing about this is the intellectual property search.

Firstly IP is not ‘legal’ term   see http://www.groklaw.net/ for a lot of info on IP.

 

Secondly the idea of searching for IP based on a code (trademark, etc)   does not appear useful.

 

It is a worry about the whole idea of protecting IP because it only used by large organisations to bludgeon smaller ones or patent trolls.   The only one I support are Copyright and trademark.

 

What are your thoughts on intellectual property rights.
