Have faith in adding alumni members. remember, address them in a
proper way by saying "ate", "kuya", "ma'am", "sir", etc.

try this thing up:
you can use social networks, names databases, and others.
prompt them by sending private messages not by flooding their account
by posting comments, post, etc. :)

Venz,

I'm totally agree with you, aside from tips you provided, just few
additions:

1.) First of all, let these alumni know what's the project all about,
where and whom did you get their names/contacts. You don't want to be
that looks like a stalker right?
2.) Give them precise instructions on how to add themselves in this
Google group not just saying copy and paste this URL and thats it???
Avoid the assumption that, "Since they are in IT, they should already
know how to do it." You should mention to them that they should have
or create a Goggle account first in order to do so.
3.) If I'm not mistaken there's another group created in conjunction
with this project in Friendster right? This group in Google should be
enough to faciliatate it.
4.) In searching your perspective alumnus/alumnae, Google alone is
very powerful web crawler, use your perspective alumnus/alumnae full
name to search in Google. Using social networking sites like
Friendster, Facebook, MySpace, LinkedIn are powerful tools too.
Friendster alone the probability to find the person your looking for
is around 70%, for as long as you know the e-mail address and/or full
name of that person.
5.) Lastly, we also have a life. Don't expect us/alumni to respond to
your request in your own convenience. Just try to be more persuasive,
right Maverick?

Well, good luck to you guys. :)
