Hey everyone!
I just wanted to say CONGRATS on making it through portfolio
presentations! I feel so great that I made it through it and I don't
have to stress about it anymore! I hope everyone else feels relieved
too!

Hi Everyone!
I want to echo what Suzy said, congratulations to everyone!  It wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be, but then again, I guess I practiced what I was going to say about 1000 times!  I hope everyone had a good experience and was able to feel some load had been lifted afterward.

On with the job search...  It would be great if we all could continue to share our experiences and our final choices with regard to jobs.  I still haven't made a decision on my offer, so I appreciate listening to how other people are doing with the decision making process.

Hi Everyone -
Congratulations! I thought of you all day yesterday and was hoping it
was going well. You all must be so relieved. For the record, I am
very jealous right now.... Oh well, I'll get there eventually.
Congrats again -- Kristen

hey everyone!
congrats again to everyone.  i definately feel a HUGE sense of relief!  i now plan on focusing on finding a job!  does anyone have good ideas about where to look?  i have some ideas, but was wondering if anyone found particular sights especially helpful.  i'm looking for a position in a school (which apparently is not very easy to find right now).  but i'm also open to rehab.  any ideas would be appreciated!  i can't believe we can actually look for real jobs now!
thanks,
liz

Congrats everyone!  I feel the relief!  It is such a good feeling!

Liz, I know this might be a hike but Arlington school district is looking for an SLP in an elementary school.  Check it out.

hey, thanks annie, i'll check it out for sure.
i also have a few questions for everyone.  i am working on my cover letter right now and i'm unsure about a few things.  first of all, when you are applying through staffing companies, do you write a cover letter to the company, or do you write one for each specific job opportunity?  also, the guidelines all say to write enclosure at the bottom, if you are including your resume.  when writing this do you just write "enclosure:" or do you write "enclosure: resume" ??  i know many of you are further along in this process than i am, so i thought you would be a good source for information!  thanks guys!

Indeed.com lists jobs from a lot of different sources. Monster.com will send e-mail alerts to you for jobs that match the description you enter.
Happy hunting

Congrats to everyone!
I didn't think the presentation part was as intimidating as I expected it to be.

Here is just some miscellaneous info that may be useful in jobhunting:

Craig's list (internet) has some SLP positions posted, mostly rehab.  However, this is where the school district I am interviewing with posted there opening.

Attached is some teacher union salary info I found online.

Don't forget to ask for MA+15 (our degree has about 19 more credits than the teacher MA at WSC)
Boston teacher contract salaries.pdf
Natick Salaries.pdf
Needham Salaries.pdf
