Hey everyone!
Has anyone found out if we can pick up our portfolios in the
morning?

Hey Liz,
I'm pretty sure that Ann said we could, but I think she said to e-mail Dr. Towne or Lee to be sure. I forgot to e-mail Dr. Towne. Did anyone e-mail either one of them and get a response? I hope everyone has a good weekend,

Hey everyone,

I emailed Dr. Melnick today and he said that for students who have him as portfolio chair, their portfolios are ready. He said to see Kathy Cole for a key to Dr. Rezen's office, where they are being stored. I can't say the same for Dr. Towne of course, but that's the best I can do :)

Hey Ladies! I hope everyone is doing well! I picked up my portfolio
today and in the letter it says that any changes should be made and
the portfolio should be resumbitted by next Friday (the 31st). I was
just wondering if anyone knew what happens after that?? Do we get
them back the day of our presentation?? Do we go pick them up before
then?? Any words of wisdom on this would be great! Thanks!

It said in a handout that Ann gave us (remediation process...) that revisions to portfolios were due the last Wednesday before the presentation.  Friday is obviously before that!  I appreciate the heads up since I had not planned to pick mine up until Wednesday!  I have no idea if we get them back before the presentation.
In general, are people being asked to do extensive or minor revisions? (still trying to see if I need to pick it up before Wednesday)

Anna
I also picked mine up yesterday. All of my changes are editing types ones; like add a comma or change "and" to "which". Each page doesn't contain very many but it means doing each one over. In the letter it also tells you if there is anything additional you need to do. Dr. Towne said to include the revision in the portfolio with the original. The letter also contains the 2 questions that you will be asked that you will know aboutfor the presentation- if you want to work on those. Hope that helps

On another portfolio note, the letter I received containing the 2 presentation questions also noted the presentation day and date as "Saturday, November 7th." And of course there isn't a Saturday, November 7th! I thought it was Friday the 7th... but could anyone clarify this for me? Thanks!

Also, does anyone know if when we submit our revisions, we submit the entire portfolio again (including originals and revisions), or only the originals and revisions themselves (i.e., without the artifacts, etc.)? The memo we'd gotten from Ann ("Portfolio Process- December, 2008 Graduates") says to "submit only the corrected pages and their revisions." Yet I couldn't tell from Dr. Melnick's letter what they were looking for. Arg!

Thanks again,

Hey everyone! Amazing how many times we have talked about portfolio
and still so many unanswered questions!

'Saturday' must have been a typo. I have definitely marked that the
presentations are Friday. I set a meeting with Ann that same day, and
she confirmed my portfolio presentation time.

I think I am going to submit the entire portfolio so that I don't have
to pull out all the sheets. But if anyone hears differently, please
let me know.

I am wondering what format we should use for our powerpoint. How much
of what we wrote in the introduction should we include in our
presentation? Is is just the intro and the two questions? Whats the
time limit for the entire thing? I can't find any of this stuff in my
notes...

I think I was probably the first one to pick up a portfolio. When Dr. Towne was explaining the process to me, he demonstrated on my portfolio by saying to put the revision with the original and he pointed to the pocket. My understanding from that was that I would return the whole portfolio. At least thats the way it seemed from what he said. I suppose we could always e-mail and ask...

From the notes this is what I have:
1) Introductory slide
2) a couple of slides to go with introduction (2-3)
3) Ask for ?'s pause
4) 1st Question (1-3 slides with bullets to discuss)
5) Ask for ?'s
6) 2nd Question (1-3 slides again)
7) Ask for ?'s
8. They ask their questions

I think the whole portfolio time is 45 minutes but don't know how muct to allot to this. They never said how much of the intro to include...
