Hi guys-
This isn't a portfolio question but I wondered if anyone had any ideas
for intervention activities for an adolescent with a monotone voice. I
am totally tone deaf so any musical or pitch type things won't work
for me.

Would appreciate any ideas or websites that would help.

hi mika,

what if you gave him a sentence and then had him say the sentence once and then say it again with inflection in his voice as if he were turning it into a question? i have some worksheets that have sentences and in parenthesis they have an emotion for example, this might be how it is set up-

It is so nice to mee you. I hope we can get together sometime (friendly) or
I'm so glad that test is finally over (relieved)

I have some varying pitch and word emphasis worksheets too. I'm not sure if this is what you are looking for. I can make copies and bring the worksheets on Wednesday if you want. I'm not sure where I got them, I may have picked them up from my outside placement this summer.

Hi Mika,

Try using gestures together with the intonation of your voice, ie hand moving up for increasing pitch, down for decreasing.  It works with younger kids by giving and provides a visual cue.

Hey everyone,
Does anyone know what format to use for our outplacement presentations?  Did Ann give us one, or do we just use the one from before?

Hi Liz,
The outline is stapled to the syllabus she gave us for the course. It
looks just like the one we used this summer, but I haven't checked it
word for word! Hope all is well.
